Medical Facilities:
Wyoming Medical Center is a community-owned,
not-for-profit licensed 206-bed regional medical center. It has grown to the State’s largest medical facility and
regional trauma center. Three
Centers of Excellence offer state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment
options with the expertise of Board Certified physicians; they are (1)
Heart Center of Wyoming; (2) Wyoming Neuroscience and Spine Center; and the (3)Wyoming
Cancer Center. In addition, the medical community offers more than 40
different medical specialties. The
facility offers a home to the University of Wyoming’s Family Practice
Residency program in conjunction with the WWAMI program and the
Community Family Health Center. On the hospital’s campus are also a new outpatient surgical
center named the Casper Surgical Center, and a new medical
office building, the McMurry Medial Arts Building, which houses a new
diagnostic and imaging Center called Outpatient Radiology and Casper
Medical Imaging. Casper’s specialty care is
supported with the latest in diagnostics, including 3 Magnetic
Resonance Imaging Units (MRIs), and multiple CT scanners. The state’s only Interventional Radiologists and an
Interventional Neuro-Radiologist can provide pain relieving treatments
and assist in reducing stroke symptoms through Intra-arterial cerebral
thrombolysis. WMC offers
the only CARF Accredited Inpatient Rehab program in the State of Wyoming
and operates a 10-bed
Transitional Care Unit. WMC
supports a growing medical staff of approximately 140 physicians and
nearly 1200 skilled staff to provide quality care and support. As a state designated
Regional Trauma Center, WMC also provides
statewide trauma education and ATLS education. Also offered are the Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit
and a Community training Center under the guidelines of the American
Heart Association to provide Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support
education.
