MEDICAL FACILITIES

Medical Facilities:  Wyoming Medical Center is a community-owned, not-for-profit licensed 206-bed regional medical center.  It has grown to the State’s largest medical facility and regional trauma center.  Three Centers of Excellence offer state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment options with the expertise of Board Certified physicians; they are (1) Heart Center of Wyoming; (2) Wyoming Neuroscience and  Spine Center; and the (3)Wyoming Cancer Center.  In addition, the medical community offers more than 40 different medical specialties.  The facility offers a home to the University of Wyoming’s Family Practice Residency program in conjunction with the WWAMI program and the Community Family Health Center.  On the hospital’s campus are also a new outpatient surgical center named the Casper Surgical Center, and a new medical office building, the McMurry Medial Arts Building, which houses a new diagnostic and imaging Center called Outpatient Radiology and Casper Medical Imaging.  Casper’s specialty care is supported with the latest in diagnostics, including 3 Magnetic Resonance Imaging Units (MRIs), and multiple CT scanners.  The state’s only Interventional Radiologists and an Interventional Neuro-Radiologist can provide pain relieving treatments and assist in reducing stroke symptoms through Intra-arterial cerebral thrombolysis.  WMC offers the only CARF Accredited Inpatient Rehab program in the State of Wyoming and operates a 10-bed Transitional Care Unit.  WMC supports a growing medical staff of approximately 140 physicians and nearly 1200 skilled staff to provide quality care and support.  As a state designated Regional Trauma Center, WMC also provides statewide trauma education and ATLS education.  Also offered are the Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit and a Community training Center under the guidelines of the American Heart Association to provide Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support education.
